Plant-Based Performance, Designed for Patrons of the Game
Why Patron?
The term Patron became widely used when Augusta National opened in the 1930s. Co-founder Clifford Roberts wanted to recognize fans as consumers who are part of an experience–like eating at a restaurant or enjoying a play–rather than just someone sitting in a seat.
Thanks to our first-of-its-kind, plant-based golf and tennis shirts, our customers are part of something when they buy our gear. Made of plant-based, sustainable materials without microplastics, our clothes are built to reduce the strain on our planet caused by traditional golf and workout wear.
Being a lifelong Patron of golf and tennis means being kind to the grounds and kind to yourself.
Better for you
We set out to ensure that Patron's clothes were made with better fabrics. After years of product development, we found a blend of plant-based materials that doesn't compromise performance.
About 90 percent of all golf and tennis shirts are made of polyester. It’s inexpensive to produce, it’s sweat-wicking, it’s comfortable, and it’s also a form of plastic. Plastic that is full of forever chemicals that millions of golfers sweat in and wear out in the sun daily. Plastic that sheds tens of thousands of microplastics that can affect our immune responses, hormones, microbiome, and even organ function over time.
Our blend of tencel-modal and bio-nylon is sweat-wicking, lightweight, and buttery-soft–hold the plastic.
Better for the earth
Sports played almost entirely outside should do less harm to the great outdoors.
Polyester clothes aren’t biodegradable, meaning even if they are “recycled polyester,” they can’t be recycled again or break down in the environment. Bio-nylon and Tencel Modal are made from plants like bamboo and eucalyptus. They’re both biodegradable and compostable so that you can be a better Patron for the future of our planet.
Modern, Classic Style
We built Patron around product and fabric innovation, but we believe in honoring the traditions of golf and tennis. That’s why we design our shirts with modern takes on classic styles. You won’t find crazy patterns or non-traditional gear at Patron. Our designs are tailored to fit right and never go out of style.
